The parc maritime de Saint-Laurent takes you back a few hundred years into the past. This unique heritage and maritime site will give you the chance to discover the beautiful and prosperous epoch of shipyards on île d’Orléans. Visit the chalouperie Godbout, which was built in 1837, and where a shipbuilding master will tell you about the shipbuilding techniques of these small wooden rowboats.
You will also have the opportunity to learn more about the Fillion family shipyard, which was opened from 1908 to 1967. You will be explained shooners, the famous water boats of the St. Lawrence River. Take the time to admire a few artefacts. Groups of children from 3rd grade up are also welcome.
