A mouth-watering visit!
Discover the first cheese ever made in America! Our traditional cheese factory has brought back to life a cheese from Isle d'Orléans that had disappeared from the market for more than forty years. We welcome you in period costumes in a wood pegs, mortice and tenon joints building built according to the construction techniques of the 17th century.
Enjoy the Paillasson, a cheese roasted on a pan and that you can taste hot as an entrée, main course or dessert. Other local products are also sold here.
Only 30 minutes from Québec City's downtown and 21 kilometres from the way in to île d'Orléans.

Open daily, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., from June 21 to September 1st, then weekends until mid-October.
Off-season, you can find Le Paillasson in many stores of île d'Orléans, Québec City and Montreal.
Rates
Rate for a tour on the history of Île d'Orléans cheese and its making, for a group of at least 20 people: $ 3.50 per person. Reservation required. The tour is in French.
