Located at the bottom of the cliff that marks the end of the Plains of Abraham, this small neighbourhood stretches along the St. Lawrence River for a little less than two kilometres. For a long time, this area was the residency for the Port workers.
Nowadays, you will find here the longest staircase in Québec City, the Cap-Blanc staircase, which has 398 stairs. It will take you from the Plains of Abraham to this neighbourhood. This staircase was built in the second half of the 19th century. It is also in the heart of this sector that you will find the Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde Church.
The Samuel-de-Champlain walkway stretches along this neighbourhood. You can either walk or bike on it. It runs along the St. Lawrence River for 2.5 kilometres and includes soccer fields as well as paths in the Tequenonday woods.
