Musée du Fort

Open year round

With the Mouth of my Cannons!

Situated on Place d'Armes in an historic building facing Château Frontenac, the Musée du Fort has given itself the mission of making you discover Quebec's rich historical past in an original and interactive way. It is therefore with a sound and light show that guides and interpreters will tell you all about the 6 sieges of the city, including the famous Battle of the Plains of Abraham which changed the course of the Canadian history and the attempted invasion of the American Revolutionary army in the middle of winter 1775.

A huge diorama depicting the region in 1750 is added to the show and two permanent exhibitions can complete your visit of the museum at the end. And if your craving for history is not yet satisfied, the museum shop is renowned for its collection of historical books in French as well as in English. You will also be able to find toy soldiers, figurines and all sorts of military toys which will make the delight of old and young. So, before visiting the many historical sites of Québec City, think about taking some time to really understand the true importance of these remainders of the past.
