The Citadelle is part of the Fortifications of Québec National historic Site of Canada and is located on the Cap Diamant. It is one of the best places where to discover the military past of the city. Learn more about the attacks from our American neighbours as well as about the building of the fortifications and the buildings that compose them.
You can also visit the Royal 22e Régiment Museum, which is located in an antique French powder-magazine dating back to 1750 and in an old military jail built in 1842. Please note that it is forbidden to walk alone inside the walls, but several guided visits are offered during the day in the warm season. You can even visit the residence of the Governor General of Canada.
