A Historical Area

The Old-Québec neighbourhood encompasses the fortified part of the city. These fortifications are opened to visitors and will certainly please everyone. The Citadelle and the Royal 22e Regiment Museum will also give you the opportunity to discover the military past of Québec City.

The numerous ancient buildings, the historical monuments as well as the houses bearing a unique architecture that are located in the area give its unique character to the city. Three of the main tourist streets of Québec City can be found in this area: rue Saint-Jean, rue Saint-Louis and rue Saint-Paul.

These narrow streets are always packed with visitors and are lined with restaurants and charming boutiques where you will certainly find a souvenir to bring back from your stay. Do not miss Place d’Youville, a gathering place where numerous festivals take place year round.
