If you visit the municipality of Sainte-Pétronille, don’t miss the Chocolaterie de l’Île d’Orléans, which makes all kinds of chocolate for every occasion: Easter, Christmas or Valentine’s day. This chocolate factory is specialised in high-quality chocolate and offers more than 24 different flavours like truffles, cherries, burnt almonds, maple butter, and many more. In summer, you can taste the home-made ice cream and sorbets.
The Sainte-Pétronille Church is also worth a stop. Since 1983, between the months of June and August, the municipality fills in with chamber music! Each summer, a series of six concerts is presented within the welcoming and friendly atmosphere of this church.
For those who are looking for a distinguished inn, the Auberge La Goéliche, located on the east end of the island, welcomes you any season in an exceptional setting. Its glass restaurant will allow you to enjoy a delicious meal while admiring the boats that follow the tides’ rhythm. On the banks of the St. Lawrence River, Galerie D'art Et Boutique Petronille, a gallery-shop founded in 1981, presents the work of Louise Lasnier, a professional artist. You will find many art objects such as jewels, bronze, drawings, paintings, sculptures, gifts and souvenirs. La Chasse-Galerie shop also proposes a varied collection of products made by the craftsmen and producers of Île d’Orléans.
Wine lovers will like their visit at the vignoble de Sainte-Pétronille, located at the entrance of the island opposite the Montmorency Falls. There grow vines entirely adapted to the cold climate and from which are made a white, a rosé, a red wine and a mistelle. You can also sample these products on the premises and visit the gift shop.
