Parc maritime de Saint-Laurent

Open from May 21 to October 10, 2011

A Step Back in Time!

The parc maritime de Saint-Laurent takes you back to a hundred years into the past. This unique heritage and maritime site will give you the chance to discover the beautiful and prosperous shipyard period on Île d’Orléans. Visit Chalouperie Godbout, which was built in 1837, where a guide will tell you all about the shipbuilding techniques of these small wooden rowboats.

You will also have the opportunity to learn more about the Fillion family shipyard, which has been operating from 1908 to 1967. You will be able to learn more about schooners, the famous water boats of the St. Lawrence River. Do not forget to have a look at a few artefacts. Groups of children are also welcome.
