Cap-Rouge is also part of the Laurentien district. Located along the St. Lawrence River, this city presents some attractions you will not want to miss. Go walk along the banks of the River or in the parc des Hauts-Fonds, visit the headlands of Cap-Rouge, hike in the parc du Boisé de la rivière Lorette, or visit the outdoor centre for many more activities.
In this area, the Centre d’art Maison Blanchette is the reconstitution of one of the oldest houses of the village. In the 19th century, this house was home to a hotel, a grocery store, and later of a post office. Nowadays, drawing and painting lessons are given by the Mouvement d’animation artistique de Cap-Rouge, and an exhibition room also awaits your visit. You will also find here the parc nautique de Cap-Rouge where you can go swimming, rent a boat, a catamaran, a pedal boat, a kayak or a rowboat. You can even take sailing lessons on the premises.
Another very interesting attraction in Cap-Rouge is the rail steel bridge named Tracel de Cap-Rouge. This impressing structure was once used by trains. This 55-metre-high and 1,000-metre-long bridge was built in 1906 by the Canadian National and is now a historical monument.
