Jardin botanique Roger-Van den Hende

Open from May to October

An Educative Garden for the Entire Community

The Jardin botanique Roger-Van den Hende was created in 1966 and opened to the public in 1978. At first, this garden had an educative purpose, since it was (and still is) used by the students of the Faculté des sciences de l'agriculture et de l'alimentation (Faculty of Food and Agricultural Sciences) at Université Laval, where it is located. It is a 6-hectare garden (15 acres) in which you will find about 4,000 indigenous plant species, but also plants from Europe, America and Asia.

The gardens are spectacular, and you can visit, among other things, a water garden, a rhododendron and herbaceous collection, an arboretum as well as beautiful roses. Guided visits are offered, and you can also walk along the educative paths, participate in the children activities or attend conferences given by experts.
