Portneuf, une voie de choix (a quality way), like its slogan says, Portneuf is a city with a unique character located in the MRC of Portneuf, close to Highway 40 between Québec and Three-Rivers.
Many aspects contribute to the particular charm of this city. First, the St. Lawrence River flows south of Portneuf, where a wharf, one kilometer long, is renowned amongst other things for its marina. Two especially interesting activities happening there are La Course de la Banquise Portneuf (canoe race on ice) and La Grande Nage Portneuf Savoura (swimming competition in the river). Besides having the river close by, the forest is part of Portneuf's charming scenery. Many trails and clubs are in place to enhance this beautiful asset and to allow nature enthusiasts to benefit from it. Le Centre Ski-Neuf (cross-country ski center) is a good example with its 40 kilometers of cross-country ski, walking and snowshoe trails open to the public in general for free. The city proposes these social infrastructures to its residents and tourists: parks, bicycle trails, a bird-watching site, a water park and many more.
Finally, many annual events allow the residents of Portneuf to enjoy a living environment that is healthy and fulfilling for the people of all ages.
