The chemin du Roy, which stretches from Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures to Grondines in the Portneuf region, was the first road suitable for vehicles to be built between Québec City and Montréal. At the beginning, New France inhabitants could go from the Saint-Jean door in Old Québec to Montréal on that road. Nowadays, along that road, stand magnificent ancestral houses, majestic churches, as well as a cycling path that allows you to see all those beauties from up close. Take the time to admire these impressive man-made buildings and enter the numerous churches; they sometimes hide treasures beyond imagination.
