The City’s Summit
In this area of the merged Québec City, we have included the Parliament and all the attractions located around it. The latter houses the National Assembly where sit the 125 members of Quebec. The façade of the building is decorated with 22 bronze statues representing the men and women who marked the history. It is also possible to go on a guided visit inside the Parliamentary and see the National Assembly room, the Conseil du trésor room and the Presidents Gallery.
In the Marie-Guyart building, behind the Parliament, the Observatoire de la Capitale offers a breathtaking panorama on Québec City and the surrounding area. You can also visit the interpretation centre, in which you will discover the history of the capital.
In the Battlefields Park and the Plains of Abraham, the Maison de la découverte presents the exhibition “Odyssée Canada”. The Plains of Abraham is the place where the famous battle between the French and British armies took place in 1759, and this site is considered as one of the largest and most prestigious urban parks in the world. You can tour the place by foot, bike, in-line skate or cross-country skis depending on the season.
