The parc national de la Jacques-Cartier is a paradise for nature lovers. Its scenery is composed of a vast mountainous plateau and steep-sided valleys. The most spectacular one is without any doubt the Jacques-Cartier Valley, at the bottom of which runs a river on which visitors can do many water activities.
The forest that covers the park is also very impressive and offers several activities as well. Take advantage of the Discovery activities or visit the Discovery centre to learn more about the ecosystems and the flora and fauna that inhabit the park. In summer, the self-guided trails also allow you to learn more about the park. Go on a canoeing or a kayaking excursion, go fishing with family or friends or go on a hike.
In winter, the park opens you its doors, so you can enjoy the snowshoeing, snow hiking or backcountry skiing trails. You can extend your stay in this majestic environment by renting a cabin, a rustic shelter or a campground site in summer and winter alike! Come spend an unforgettable day in the most beautiful park of the region!
The park is located within 40 km of Quebec City, into the massif of Laurentians; can be reached by Route 175.
